Chilean cuisine is a delicious blend of Spanish, indigenous and Mediterranean influences. In this post we have some of our Favourite dishes we tried in Chile!
Pastel de Choclo
Pastel de Choclo is a traditional dish from made from beef, onions, raisins, olives and roasted chicken go into the body of the casserole and is then topped with mashed corn. This is a dish that is comforting and just delicious. We loved pastel de Choclo and ate it a numerous times while in Chile.

Mote con Huesillos
Mote con Huesillo is a very different Chilean drink that consists of sweet syrup with husked wheat and dried peach. It doesn’t look that appealing and has lots textures going on but it’s refreshing on a hot day. You will see this drink for sale in street food carts dotted all around Santiago.

Chorillana
Chorrillana is a dish is made with French fries, onion, sausage, beefs strips and topped with one or two fried eggs. This is an amazing dish taking loaded fries to the next level! a perfect dish to enjoy with a beer!

Empanada de Pino
Pino empanada is a very typical type of empanada that can be found all over Chile. The empanada is stuffed with ground beef, olives and a hard boiled egg.

Austral Patagonia Beer
If you enjoy a good beer be sure to try out Austral Patagonia it’s infused with the loca Calafate berry and is divine! easily my favourite beer in all of South America

Paila Marina
A seafood soup from the Valparaiso area served in a paila an earthenware bowl. The soup is made with fresh seafood, with spices and herbs and it’s light, warming and delicious.

Completo
Chilean hotdog that comes loaded with heaps of toppings and a large serving of guacamole.
Churrasco Sandwich
The Chilean Churrasco Sandwich is a popular and fast food in Chile. It typically consists of thinly sliced grilled beef, bread bun and various toppings with a large slathering of mayo! We ate churrasco sandwiches many times and never got a bad version.
