One of the best places in London to see Autumn colours is Little Venice. We spent the day exploring the area and walking along Regents canal to Camden Town where we shopped in the Camden market and tried some delicious food and drinks.

Our Experience

We stopped for a coffee at the Waterside café before exploring the Grand Union Canal. Along the first 1/4 of a mile there are beautiful Autumn colours as you make you way along the canal past the colourful boats parked at the moorings.

Eventually we reached a foot bridge just across from the St Mary Magdalene Paddington church. From the bridge you can get amazing views looking in both directions down the canal.

We then made our way back to Browning’s pond and walked around and watched the birds frolic for a bit before joining regents canal and starting the walk to Camden Lock. Again check out the view from the bridge here for the best views of the autumn colours for the entire journey.

After passing the private moorings and walking over the Maida Hill tunnel the path joins back up with Regents canal. The walk to Camden town is really nice as you pass by regents park and the London zoo. There are some areas with fall colours along the path but not as vibrant as they area around Little Venice.

After 2.3 miles you will have made it to Camden lock! to your left there is a food court and beyond that the Camden market. The market is a great place to do some shopping but it can be unbearably busy on the weekends. There are also a some bars in the area also if you fancy a reward after the walk.

We explored the market, grabbed a bite to eat at Yorkshire Burrito! and washed it down with a beer at the 3 Locks brewery. Then made our way back to Little Venice via the Water Bus! You catch the waterbus right next to the iron bridge where you first arrive at Camden lock(marked on map) it costs £17 per person.

The Waterbus was a lot of fun it goes at a nice slow pace while the crew explains the history of the area as you pass the points of interest. Definitely worth it and it saves you the walk back, especially if you stopped for a pint!

TRAVEL TIP: All of these places are marked in the handy map above!

Where/What To Eat & Drink

Waterside Café: Nice little café on a boat in Little Venice! the setting alone is worth a stop! the coffee was also awesome.

Yorkshire Burrito: Food truck like stall in the main food court in Camden lock market. They put a Sunday roast on a giant Yorkshire pudding and wrap it up! delicious, comforting and very unique! you have to try it out!

3 Locks brewery: Little brewery that brews all their beer on site and have a good variety of selections including the very appropriately named Autumn larger!
